Specialised Midwife
  • QUALIFICATION

I have the biggest passion for mothers and babies. Since having my own baby, the coolest little boy my outlook on life has completely changed as well as the way I nurse mothers and babies. Giving mothers the best birthing experience with as little as possible fear and anxiety has become my mission. I feel that the correct research-based information and guidance gives moms the power to decide for themselves, to prevent unnecessary intervention, pain, and fear.

It has been a long road to nursing. I started my career as a Somatologist in 2006, completing a degree in Somatology at the Tshwane University of Technology. This led me to my passion which is nursing. I started studying nursing at the University of Pretoria in 2011, where I met my bestest colleague Sr. Nisanne and we discovered a joined passion for midwifery. Together we tackled a diploma in Advanced midwifery at the University of Johannesburg and I finally completed mine in 2018. I have always felt if I am going to be a midwife, I want to be the best one with as much as possible knowledge on the field. You will never know everything, but continuous education keeps you up to date with the best safe practices for mother and baby.
