I am Sr Anke. I am an Advanced Midwife. I also have a degree in Somatology and I think this is were my holistic approach to Nursing was born. I am the luckiest mother of the coolest little boy. I feel passionate about birth choices and minimal intervention during birth. The uninterrupted golden hour lies close to my heart.
It has been a long road to nursing. I started my career as a Somatologist in 2006, completing a degree in Somatology at the Tshwane University of Technology. This led me to my passion which is nursing. I started studying nursing at the University of Pretoria in 2011, where I met my bestest colleague Sr. Nisanne and we discovered a joined passion for midwifery. Together we tackled a diploma in Advanced midwifery at the University of Johannesburg and I finally completed mine in 2018. I have always felt if I am going to be a midwife, I want to be the best one with as much as possible knowledge on the field. You will never know everything, but continuous education keeps you up to date with the best safe practices for mother and baby.
